GSA and Chicago-based real estate private equity firm Harrison Street Real Estate Capital formed a joint venture in December 2015 to invest €250m ($285m) in student accommodation over five years in Dublin.
Harrison Street and GSA also have a joint venture comprising a portfolio of five purpose-built student residences in London, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield and Lincoln, providing almost 1,500 beds.
Harrison Street has invested in over 60,000 student accommodation beds in America, with some US$3bn assets under management.
